SHADY COMMENTARY: Is she a bitch, or is it just the Producer's pitch?

On this season of Allstars, we’ve seen one bitch after another go out the door. First it was Morgan, then Thorgy, now Milk. Each one gave us a bunch of attitude before they were sent packing.  But the question is: is the edit telling the real story?

Is she a bitch, or is it just the Producer's pitch?

Drag Race is known for quote mining, we see the out of context soundbytes every bumper as we go out to commercial, only to find when they come back that the real context is never as good. But that aside, we made a lot of assumptions about Morgan McMichaels based on her previous season, and as our guest today calls it “her devil face”. But apart from her voicing her intention to bump off the competition, what did she really do wrong and why do we hate her so much?

Thorgy was set forward from the beginning to be a bumbling genius who thought she was better than…well, anything we saw to substantiate it, but many were still huge fans until we saw the Divas Live episode last week. She said she was being set up, we saw her fighting for a place on stage, questioning the movements she was given – one of the very reasons she was sent to the bottom -- and she’s had lots to say – in the episode and since – about being set up to lose. Nevertheless, the hating is real, and it’s clear that her stock dropped considerably with people who once were singing her praises.

Milk had a three episode ramp up, starting slowly with confessional snarkiness, doubling down with the backrow muttering and sobbing last episode and ending -- so far -- with a whiny and glassy-eyed monologue to the camera as she got sent packing. But wait…DINGGGGGGGG. Could somebody please tell US what all this means? The complaint that I keep hearing – and I agree with – is that Milk shouldn’t have been there. But if that’s the issue, then why aren’t we hating Chi Chi more? But we all still love Chi Chi, don’t we? And bad performances aside for both, the only important difference really is the attitude. Chi Chi didn’t pick a fight with fan-favorite Kennedy and she didn’t steam-roll over the zingers of world-favorite Trixie. No she just laid there, while Shangela was forced to dive down under that horrible hot tub foam just to keep them from both going home.

But no ones hating Chi Chi because the edit is just too good. Nope, we just the ones who went home. So far…
